babypops’ spaghetti tutorial :D

27 May

Wanna try cooking ur virgin dish?

Try cooking spaghetti!

It’s so simple & hassle-free!

I  COOKING!

Here’s a simple tutorial in making ur very own spaghetti!

Ingredients for my spaghetti

Spaghetti

Butter

Olive Oil

Parsley

Parmesan Cheese

Luncheon Meat

Ham

Garlic

Spaghetti sauce

Of course, it’s up to ur preference wad other ‘liao’ you want to add, such as pork, eggs, chicken, mushroom, red chilli flakes blah blah.

But as I’m kinda budget, so I havta make do with wadeva ingredients I have! (:

Step 1: Boil spaghetti in boiling water for 10 minutes or so.

Tip: Sprinkle some salt in boiling water before adding in spaghetti!

Step 2: Dice ingredients like luncheon meat, pork etc. while waiting for spaghetti to boil.

Step 3: Add Olive oil & melt some butter onto the frying pan.

CAUTION!

The oil and butter will sizzle a ‘lil!

You might wanna stand a bit further for a few sec.

Step 4: Throw ur diced ingredients into the frying pan.

Tip: Fry till luncheon meat & ham turned abit chao-da!

It will taste nicer that way! ^^

Step 5: After 10 minutes, drain away the boiling water, and pour the spaghetti on a plate.

Tip: Wash spaghetti in cold water to make it softer to the touch! 😀

Step 6: According to the number of pax, roughly gauge the number of spaghetti sauce servings you need.

Heat spaghetti sauce under low heat for 5-10 minutes.

Step 7: At the same time, melt some butter, add some garlic & briefly heat up the spaghetti on another pan for 1-2 minutes.

Tip: For better taste, sprinkle seasonings like parsley & parmesan cheese over the spaghetti!

Step 8: Remove spaghetti from the pan.

Step 9: Pour spaghetti sauce over the spaghetti.

And yessss, you are done!!!

Ocean Pedi ^^

27 May

Back with another nail color & design this time round! ^^

Quite lazy to paint my nails for quite sometime!

Teeheex.

Bought Skinfood creamy nail color in Ocean & decided to use it this week!

The nail color comes in a really cuteeeee milk bottle design!

2,500 won nia!

Cheap cheap!

It’s actually quite a hassle to apply nail art stamps on my nails.

Practice makes perfect, but somehow it’s either the nail art stamp designs are too big, or tt I’m jst nt good in applying it. The designs always stamp halfway one, u get wad I mean?

Sobx.

But anyways, noone will really scrutinize my feet that close ba, else they will be PA-JIAO liao!

Hahahaha!

Tadahhhhh!!!!!

The end product!

Ooops, pardon the heart shape! :p

FACE THE WORLD, MY CHIO FEET! ^^

With love from 제주도: Day 3

♥ Insadong Bizeun rice cakes & Patbingsu ♥

22 May

Been quite beezee these few days, but am oso growing fatter at the same time.

No time to update my blog.

Gg to be a dead blog soon. :p

Anyhows, today’s post is abt food agn!

I really loveeeeeeeee food soooo muchie!

**************

Well, I went to Insadong twice in the month of May to eat BIZEUN famous rice cakes & patbingsu!

SHIOKS BO? Hehehe.

The nearest way to get there is to alight at Jonggak subway & get out via Exit 3.

This is how the exterior of Bizeun looks like.

Also named 'Tteok' (떡)

BIZEUN

 My 1st Visit

By the time I’m there, many types of rice cakes were sold out! -.-

So I suggest it’s better to arrive there early & lay ur hands on ur fav rice cakes flavors!

Ooooh, I particularly like the rice cakes in the center! The juice will spill out, so be careful!

Mochi, Manjoo

Best selling items

Their steamed rice cakes not only looks cute, but taste good too!

After taking photos of the rice cakes & store layout, I ordered 1 Sweet Pumpkin Steamed Rice Cake (I got the last one!!!), 1 set of traditional colorful rice cakes for bb’s family & 1 Green Tea Patbingsu.

While waiting...

Sweet Pumpkin steamed rice cake, & Traditional colorful rice cakes!

Sweet pumpkin steamed rice cake is nice! Looks good yo!

TADAHHHHHH…

MY GREEN TEA PATBINGSU!!!!!

LOOKS SO YUMMILICIOUS!!!!

WANNA TRY IT?

Dunnit wash the bowl liao!

I alr lick it for the washer! It’s so clean lor! Haha! :p

My 2nd Visit with friends

This time round, I ordered Red bean manjoo, Green tea Patbingsu (YES, AGAIN!) & shared traditional colorful rice cakes with Shirlyn & Jz.

Our Green Tea Patbingsu along with Jz's Jojobi tea! Refreshing!

Jz ordered quite a bit of stuff frm Bizeun.

Here’s what he ordered FOR HIMSELF ONLY.

Haha!

Yes, all the steamed rice cakes are Jz's orders! Keke.

Jz looks satisfied with his many food orders!! 😀

So, here’s my rating for BIZEUN Green Tea Patbingsu.

Price for BIZEUN’s patbingsu is abt 5,500 won to 6,000 won. But for the quality, I wouldn’t complain for this price. I guess that’s the avg price for a bowl of patbingsu in Korea ba.

Caffe Bene’s bingsu commands a steeper price for its Strawberry bingsu. 8,000 won ler! But also tastes good lah! Haha.

BIZEUN’s patbingsu comes with a generous dose of red bean mochi and red beans. Plus the green tea ice cream is freshly grounded one! Taste simply amazingggggg.

Oooh-la-la…

As for the sweetness level, different ppl have different preferences. As I’m a sweet-tooth person, I really like how it taste in my mouth. But for ppl who don’t really fancy sweet stuff, the sweetness of the patbingsu might be a ‘lil strong.

11 May

Our long awaited short getaway trip to Jeju-do finally arrived!!!

After say 10 weeks of sch? >.<

We took Eastar jet.

166,000 won for 2 way trip was considered ex cos we flew during the peak season. -.-

Us before departing!

Brandon, Jh, Me, Jz

Jz & Me

1st time experiencing taking a bus to reach the airplane.

Welcome to Eastar Jet! ^^

If u think tt the weather was foggy in Seoul, Jeju-do was worst! ):

Entire journey took bout 50 minutes.

Managed to catch some rest on the plane. But woke up feeling restless.  ):

Upon arrival at Jeju airport, we encountered difficulty in renting a car as it’s during the peak season.

All cars were rented out, leaving us with the only option of hiring a taxi package.

Cost of taxi package with either a Mandarin/English speaking cab driver: 150,000 won per day for 8 hrs.

Expensive man!

Ended up we sought help from a very helpful lady over the information counter. She advised us how and whr to plan our daily journey, and even gave us the bus number to take to different locations.

She also helped us telephoned one of the cab drivers and managed to book a cab package for us on the 2nd day (End up we took Taixin & Cheryl’s rented car for Day 2 and Day 3).

Went for dinner before viewing Cheonjiyeon Waterfall with Cheryl, Taixin & Christiana.

Had some feast tho’. Food was nt bad, with sambal fish, toufu, chicken & free side dishes.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is best viewed at night, as compared to the other waterfalls.

Looks eerie, no?

The Gals!

The Guys!

As we had to wake up real early the next day for the Sunrise Peak, we headed back to our accommodation thereafter.

Our goshiwon livingtel mgr managed to help us secure an accommodation over in Jeju and here’s how it looks like.

Namguk Hotel Signboard

Namguk Hotel from the outside

50,000 won per night. 4 pax. Worth it?

Not really.

Ventilator & fridge ain’t working.

Floor was quite dirty.

Toilet floor was sandy.

No toiletries was provided. i.e. No shower gel, shampoo, conditioners, toothpaste etc.

Only towels and toilet rolls were given upon request.

Ohhh, forgot to mention tt the toilet light bulb fused on our last night stay! End up Brandon had to help change the lightbulb! -.-“

Traditional room

But it’s better than having no accomodation lah.

So, don’t complain yar! 😀

Daiso Hair Rollers

4 May

As mentioned previously in my hair perming post few weeks back, I was rather dissatisfied with the outcome of my perms.

So I decided to get cheap hair rollers from Daiso to make my hair wavy a ‘lil. Wore it to sleep till next morning. A ‘lil uncomfortable to slp in tho’.

So, did it work for me?

Yes, hair rollers works!

My hair was curly and bouncy the next morning, and the curls lasted all day without any hair serum or hair wax.

2,000 won for 7 hair rollers.

Worth it?

U bet it works! 😀
